Deborah Booker - Lead Teacher

 


Debbie Booker comes to Hope Academy with decades of experience in teaching students who are dyslexic. In addition to holding a Master's degree in Special Education, she is a Slingerland Director and is well-versed in this multi-sensory teaching approach that has been proven very successful with dyslexic individuals.

 

"Mrs. B" is extremely hard-working and passionate about helping our students succeed academically.

 

 

Iris Cacy - Teacher Grades 1-3

 

Mrs. Cacy joined our staff in 2009. With decades of experience teaching children who learn differently, Iris has her finger on the pulse of each of her unique students.

 

Slingerland Certified, Iris is thrilled to be able to effectively help our students.

Kathy Clausen - Science/History/Classroom Aide

 

A wonderful addition to our staff, Mrs. Clausen assists in the classroom every morning and, depending on the day of the week, teaches Science and History to our students. Her lessons are exciting, interesting and hands-on.

 

Mrs. Clausen is a great encourager to our students and is known to say, "I love my job!" at least once a week. She is working toward becoming Slingerland Certified.

 

A college-level athlete and former swim coach, you will catch Kathy leading our students in games during recess.


Stephanie Soltero - Math Specialist

 

Mrs. Soltero joined our staff in 2008 and is a self-proclaimed "math nerd."

Utilizing a manipulative-based curriculum and presenting practical, hands-on lessons, Mrs. Soltero succeeds in making math fun, approachable and accessible to our students.

 

A math and teaching enthusiast, Stephanie finds the challenge of teaching students who either struggle or excel in math energizing.
